Using Your Axle
Axles are great for training a variety of lifts. Particularly popular within the world of strongman, they provide a much tougher challenge when pressing and deadlifting. This is due to the THICKNESS of the bar. If you’re using straps you’ll still notice a difference due to the lack of ‘whip’ in the axle. As they are made from solid steel there is very little give. Most people find it’s much more challenging lifting heavy weights with an axle.
We recommend training with your axle every few weeks to help not only improve your grip strength but forearm size too! You can use it when deadlifting, pressing, rowing and even perform bicep curls too.
